Holistic Approach
We will gather information to develop plans taking into account the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of the individual, family and community.
Inclusivity
We will honor different perspectives and consider full membership in all activities and decisions.
Governance
The purpose of the Custom Governance Code is to help our community plan for the orderly selection and transition of ONS leaders. Over the past year, we have achieved much progress on a draft Custom Governance Code. Early in this process, the Working Group reached out to our whole community, asking for input on a series of questions, through Survey Monkey. That was not the end of our consultation with our community – it was only the beginning. The NEW Working Group will involve a larger more diverse number of our community members. The NEW Working Group will meet as a group and will advise on and complete a final draft Custom Governance Code, to take to our people for a vote. If the Custom Governance Code is accepted by more than 50% of those ONS members who vote (ratification process), the NEW Custom Governance Code will apply to the selection of ONS leaders, going forward.
